This summer, we had the pleasure of being a part of Missy + Matt’s wedding at Hotel ZaZa! The couple wanted a wedding day that would be both traditional + romantic, but that also reflect their fun-loving personalities. We used a beautiful color palette of marsala, gold, champagne + blush to set the tone for their dreamy day.
The ceremony was held in the boutique hotel’s stunning Phantom Ballroom. Two hundred and fifty guests watched as the couple exchanged vows, in a very personal ceremony that was officiated by the groom’s grandfather. As a tribute to family members who had passed away, the bride’s bouquet + groom’s boutonniere were affixed with tiny frames of the bride’s grandparents, and the groom’s mother, who they wanted to recognize on this special day. The couple said “I do” atop a sleek, white stage, topped with columns, candelabras and vases overflowing with lush floral.
After enjoying delectable passed hors d’oeuvres and beverages at cocktail hour, guests returned to the ballroom for the amazing reception. A black dance floor featuring a vinyl of the couple’s monogram sat under the venue’s sparkling chandelier, and was surrounded by a mix of round + square tables, and lounge furniture. Gorgeous champagne linen, and one of five different centerpieces topped each table. Black Chiavari chairs were also dressed with a burgundy sash to bring in the color palette even more.
One of the couple’s non-negotiables, was the use of lots of entertainment for their guests. The couple’s favorite DJ kept guests on the dance floor all night long, while they were also able to enjoy a photo booth and a casino area, as well as watch a talented live painter create a custom piece of art from the couple’s first dance.
After hours of amazing food, including wedding cake and late night snacks, dancing and celebration with family and friends, the couple exited the reception through a shower of rose petals. The party wasn’t over then though; as they continued the evening at an after party at the hotel, complete with another dance floor and bar setup!
